The change in diet, exercise and various other measures can also make a significant contribution to the normalization of blood pressure.

The daily "bread" should include fruits and vegetables. For those who do not like to eat fruit in one piece, the following trick is a recommendation: Different types of fruit are prepared as fruit salad. This is eaten for breakfast, as a dessert or in between. But even a piece of cucumber, carrot or pepper are suitable as a snack. The phytochemicals contained in raw food reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels. In the evening, raw vegetables are best avoided and the vegetables are steamed before consumption.

Similarly suitable are linseed oil and olive oil, as well as walnut oil and rapeseed oil. On the other hand, the fats in meat and sausage are less healthy, while beef fat and goose fat are significantly healthier than, for example, lard. To reduce blood pressure, reduce consumption to twice a week.

Garlic and lemon cure

The following garlic cure improves the flow properties of the blood, protects against arteriosclerosis, strengthens the immune system, deacidifies and lowers blood pressure. Do not be afraid of the smell of garlic - it is prevented by the lemons. Six organic lemons are washed and sliced. With half a liter of water and thirty peeled cloves of garlic, the whole thing is finely mixed and then strained through a sieve. The remaining liquid is added another half liter of water and the whole thing heated on the stove. The brew stays there for about an hour when the stove is off. Then the garlic-lemon-cure is finished and stored in glass bottles in the refrigerator. The recommended intake is: a shot glass full twice a day before meals, preferably mixed with a little water. The cure lasts for about three weeks. After a two-week break, a repetition makes sense.

In Ayuverdic medicine, these good qualities of garlic have been known for over 2000 years. The adenosine contained in the garlic dilates the blood vessels, and thus leads to a reduction in blood pressure. Attention: if you have surgery, you should refrain from taking garlic products. The garlic can namely increase the effect of some anticoagulants.

Tea recipes for high blood pressure

Medicinal plants such as hawthorn, valerian, lemon balm and mistletoe tea are mild hypotensive. The tea blends do not help overnight, they require a lead time of at least four weeks. After six weeks, a break of two weeks is needed before the same mixture is drunk again.

Recipe 1: Thirty grams of hawthorn flowers and leaves, twenty grams of lemon balm leaves, forty grams of valerian root, and forty grams of mistletoe are mixed in a pharmacy or a well-stocked herb shop. A teaspoon of the mixture is poured over a quarter liter of boiling water. The tea should take about eight minutes and is drunk unsweetened in the morning and evening.

Recipe 2: Mistletoe, hawthorn flowers and leaves and lemon balm leaves are mixed in equal parts, and one teaspoon of it is brewed with 250 milliliters of boiling water. The brewing time here is between five and eight minutes. The tea is also drunk morning and evening.

Acupuncture & Ayuverda

Acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy, is commonly used in naturopathic clinics in the presence of hypertension. Both ear and body acupuncture are used here. The effect has since been confirmed by studies. The treatment is preceded by a detailed medical history to identify the exact causes of hypertension and then treat them. In Ayurveda medicine extracts of henna against hypertension are used.

Especially when the increased blood pressure is not long, he can be reduced to a normal value with the right sport again. Not high-performance sports or hours of exercises are required here, but rather a continuous and body-adapted endurance training. If you want to find more exercise, there is nothing better for the beginning than long, brisk walks in the fresh air.
