Chinese medicine /

Chinese medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is based on natural treatment methods that have been adapted and improved over thousands of years. In addition to the use of numerous herbal ingredients, manual treatment methods, exercise and nutritional therapy, acupuncture and moxibustion are core elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Although many approaches to TCM have been scientifically challenged, acupuncture, for example, has been shown to be an effective treatment for a range of conditions. The generally positive health effect of kinetic Qigong is also provable and the importance of nutrition for health can not be denied. Overall, TCM is more geared to remedying the causes of the disease and is less focused on immediate symptom relief. (Fp)
