Avandia
The diabetes drug Avandia (active ingredient rosiglitazone) has not been approved in this country since November 2010, as in several studies significant health risks were found in the intake. Given the cardiovascular risks and increased heart attacks, the European Medicines Agency had previously rated the benefit-risk balance of Avandia as unfavorable. Although health risks have not been confirmed in recent studies, Avandia is currently no longer in use in this country.
